QUESTIONS
ABOUT PERMANENT MAKE-UP
WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKE-UP?
Permanent make-up (a.k.a. micro-pigmentation, micro pigmentation,
or micro pigment implantation) is a state-of-the-art process
where natural pigments are placed just under the surface of the
skin. These hypoallergenic pigments are specifically designed
for facial applications.
IS PERMANENT MAKE-UP A TATTOO?
No, definitely not!
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
Permanent make-up is applied by various machines and methods
including; rotary machines, the pen and the non-machine or hand
method. Using a small, sterile, micro-prong needle, pigment is
placed into the dermal layer of skin.
DOES THE PROCEDURE HURT?
Topical anesthetics are used to numb the area. Although you
may experience some minor discomfort, most people describe a
gentle scrub, mild stimulation, or mild plucking sensation. You
may experience some minor discomfort. This will vary according
to the individual and the skill of the technician performing
the procedure.
IS IT SAFE?
Yes! A skin patch-test is performed with each new client
for an allergic reaction. Disposable sterile needles and surgical
gloves are used for each procedure. Allergic reactions to permanent
make-up are extremely rare.
HOW LONG DOES EACH PROCEDURE TAKE?
The procedure will generally take 1.5 - 2.5 hours. Follow
up procedures usually do not require as much time as the first
initial application. However, times vary according to the individual's
sensitivity, density, elasticity and condition of the skin.
HOW MANY APPOINTMENTS WILL BE NECESSARY?
A checkup will be scheduled within two months of the initial
application. Sometimes this may be required to perfect the color,
line, shadow, or design.
HOW PERMANENT IS PERMANENT MAKE-UP?
Technically, permanent make-up is considered permanent because
it can not be washed off. However, a variety of factors may influence
the longevity. Usually make-up will last from 3-5 years for darker
skin, and 7-10 years on lighter skin. For some individuals these
procedures are indeed permanent. Fading can and often does occur,
requiring touchup maintenance.

eyeliner, and SPF on lips will greatly prolong the effective
life of your make-up
